Los trabalenguas o tongue twisters son una forma estupenda de practicar y mejorar la pronunciación y la fluidez. También pueden ayudar a mejorar el acento utilizando la aliteración, que es la repetición de un sonido. No son sólo para los niños, sino que también los utilizan los actores, los políticos y los oradores públicos que quieren sonar con claridad al hablar. A continuación, encontrarás algunos de los trabalenguas ingleses más populares. Repítelos tan rápido como puedas hasta dominarlos. Si consigues hacerlo, te expresarás de una manera mucho más segura.
Practicar trabalenguas en inglés es una forma divertida de conocer y practicar los fonemas característicos del idioma, adquirir nuevo vocabulario, mejorar tu fluidez y rapidez de lectura y expresarte de manera más rápida. Muchos trabalenguas (o tal vez todos) resultan incongruentes, así que no intentes traducirlos o entenderlos, recuerda solo dominarlos y pronunciarlos correctamente.
Aquí te dejamos una serie de trabalenguas o tongue twisters, para que sueltes tu lengua y te diviertas al mismo tiempo que mejoras tu inglés. Primero inténtalos de forma lenta y pon atención a la pronunciación y entonación, luego ve incrementando la velocidad lo más que puedas.
Easy tongue twisters / Trabalenguas fáciles (normal y rápido):
- A big bug : A big bug bit a bold bald bear and the bold bald bear bled blood badly.
2. Spell New York: Knife and a fork, bottle and a cork, that is the way you spell New York.
3. Sandwich sane witch: There’s a sandwich on the sand which was sent by a sane witch.
Medium tongue twisters / Trabalenguas intermedios (normal y rápido):
- Peter piper: Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

3. Whether the weather: Whether the weather be fine, or whether the weather be not.

Hard tongue twisters / Trabalenguas difíciles (normal y rápido):
- Betty butter: Betty bought some butter, but the butter Betty bought was bitter,
